Introducing Erie County’s First Online Financial Literacy Partnership!
Take Control of Your Money
United Way of Erie County has partnered with Premier Bank and Banzai to bring you clear, in-depth lessons that help you dive into the financial topics you care most about.
United Way of Erie County is in the planning process for more new program offerings in 2025:
IRS VITA/TCE Program
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs provide free tax preparation services for low-to-moderate-income individuals, seniors, and those with disabilities. These programs aim to ensure taxpayers receive accurate tax returns, maximize refunds, and access credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
Ride United Transportation and Last Mile Delivery
Ride United Transportation (RUTA): Provides free or lowcost rides to individuals in need of reliable transportation for critical services, such as medical appointments, job interviews, or education. It addresses barriers to mobility for underserved communities.
Ride United Last Mile Delivery (RULMD): Focuses on delivering essential goods, such as food, medications, and supplies, directly to households facing transportation or access challenges, often in partnership with services like DoorDash.
United ALICE
United ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) represents individuals and families who earn above the federal poverty level but struggle to afford basic needs, such as housing, childcare, food, transportation, and healthcare. These households are often one emergency away from financial crisis, and United ALICE aims to highlight and address these gaps in financial stability.
