ALICE Barrier Reduction Assistance Program

Program Information

The ALICE Barrier Reduction Assistance Program helps hardworking individuals and families overcome barriers that prevent them form obtaining, maintaning, or advancing in employment.

Examples of barriers the program may address include transportation, vehicle repairs, work-related expenses, licensing/certification costs, childcare, utilities, and other needs that support long-term financial stability.

Program Process

  1. Call 2-1-1 to begin the application process.
    A Community Resource Navigator will complete an initial assessment, determine eligibility, connect individuals to available resources, and help determine whether Barrier Reduction Assistance may be available.
  2. Verify eligibility by meeting the ALICE income guidelines.  ALICE Income Guidelines 
  3. Provide required documentation to support the request.
  4. Participate in United Way of Erie County’s Financial Wellness Workshops as required by the program.
